Xerox has been positioned as a leader in the IDC MarketScape: US, Networked Multifunction Peripherals for the Distributed Office 2012 Vendor Analysis report, for having one of the most complete multifunction printer (MFP) portfolios in the industry.

The report also recognised Xerox as one of the first to implement a services-led approach to the market – integrating workflows and business processes while supporting broader document-based solutions beyond print.

The report analyses MFP vendors and delivers an overview of competitive fitness. It highlighted Xerox's wide range of colour and monochrome devices that serve customers from small businesses to large enterprises.

“Xerox demonstrated strengths in all of the key factors we identify to ensure MFP market success,” said Keith Kmetz, vice-president, Hardcopy Peripherals Solutions and Services, IDC. “This indicates that customers are looking for qualities beyond a product with their MFP vendors, such as pricing that fits their requirements and a services model that will drive value-added differentiation.”

“Xerox has maintained its leadership position in the MFP market, by providing the document industry's broadest portfolio of offerings,” says Rabin Ram, Xerox MD at Bytes Document Solutions, the authorised Xerox distributor in sub-Saharan Africa and a division of Bytes Technology Group. “This includes colour and black-and-white desktop printers and office multifunction systems and services to help customers meet all their printing needs.”

Ram says the company has kept pace with innovations that help clear the path between paper and digital content, cut through the clutter and make information relevant. Among these is Xerox's Extensible Interface Platform, which allows businesses to build software that can perform complex, unique tasks directly from a Xerox MFP touch-screen.
