ROCHESTER, N.Y., May 5, 2009 - Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) has added 4,000 square feet to the world's largest showcase of digital printing technology to make room for additional equipment and ultimately help print providers identify and capture new revenue opportunities.
The flagship Xerox iGen4(tm) Press is the latest addition to the more than 100,000-square-foot Gil Hatch Center for Customer Innovation in Rochester, N.Y. The center gives visitors access to Xerox's entire portfolio of equipment and solutions, and product and application experts are on hand to help them understand and maximize the capabilities of the machines.
Xerox uses the center to host workshops about a variety of topics ranging from photo publishing and direct marketing to transactional printing and variable-data campaigns. These Thought Leadership Workshops have attracted more than 4,000 global attendees during the past two years. Other workshop topics include book publishing, transactional printing, business and market development, quick and franchise print, and integrating digital and offset printing.
"Xerox's depth of experience and the networking opportunities at the direct marketing workshop were extremely valuable," said Roger Reynolds, general manager at Canada-based Commercial Digital Print. "It offered a great opportunity to hear from industry experts, check out applications being printed real-time and learn from peers."
Each event draws more than 50 customers and prospects, such as commercial, quick print, and in-plant print providers, photo retailers and professional photo labs, service bureau professionals, direct marketers and digital book publishers.
"Print providers are looking for vendors to partner with and provide valuable insight about a variety of topics to enable business growth," said Eric Armour, president, Global Business and Strategic Marketing, Xerox Corporation. "Our workshops offer attendees the ideal setting to gain insight about how to succeed with Xerox and leave with tangible ways to build their businesses."
Products on display include the Xerox iGen3(r) Digital Production Press and Xerox iGen4 Press, the Xerox 700 Digital Color Press, the Xerox Nuvera(r) and DocuColor(r) and families, Xerox 8254E(tm) Color Wide Format Printer, Xerox 980 Color Continuous Feed and Xerox 1300(tm) Continuous Feed Printing Systems as well as in-line feeding and finishing capabilities.
