Hey Gang,

Hope all is well. Its been a while.

I'm seeing a really notable increase in Xerox C60/C70 Series unit sales in 2015 (vs. 2014) and I was wondering if you had any hunch as to why these products may have sold so well.

My current thesis is these products saw increased sales because:

  • They have an advantage replacing previous generation DocuColor 240/242 etc and C550/C560/C570 models that are in the installed base and coming off lease
  • Xerox now makes these products available through authorized dealers so they are available through a greater portion of the channel
  • Xerox has a strong production print and major enterprise presence, where the C60/C70 Series is a good fit
  • Xerox may have invested in some generous promotions last year

Do any of these make sense to you and do you have any other specific reasons why these products may have fared so well in 2015?

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks and best regards,

Jake

Several reasons: Production units have enhanced durability, lower cpc and comes with a dedicated print specialist that assists in the sale. Leverage that with Xerox historically owning the production space it makes sense to go with heavy iron rather than fast plastic. That's an easy sell to a customer.  The c60/70 demos well and if it's a current Xerox account the display is familiar. Wide variety of substrates, compact footprint. lastly it is really a hybrid that can sell in a non production as well as an office environment ( with some caveats). You can sell it with or without a print controller, and there is not a big delta in price between the office units.  If there were promotions I am unaware. Reps have a high confidence level with this product.
