NORWALK, Conn., May 21, 2010 -- Xerox Corporation's board of directors yesterday elected Uta Werner and Christa Carone as vice presidents of the corporation, acknowledging their significant contributions to the company.

Werner, 51, is chief strategy officer for Xerox Corporation. She was named to this position in February 2010 and is responsible for leading Xerox's strategy development and management activities as well as market research and competitive insights. Prior to this role, Werner was a vice president of strategy for Xerox's global services organization, focusing on growth opportunities in business process outsourcing.

Before joining Xerox in September 2009, Werner served for more than 20 years as an advisor to large global corporations and investment management professionals. As a partner with Marakon Associates, she worked with many Fortune 200 companies, including Xerox, developing strategies for profitable growth and increased shareholder value.

Carone, 41, is vice president, marketing and communications for Xerox Corporation, serving as the company's chief marketing officer. She was named to this position in September 2008, and is responsible for global marketing strategy and initiatives that include advertising, experiential marketing, public relations, internal communications, integrated campaigns, http://www.xerox.com, and the Xerox Foundation. Prior to this role, Carone was vice president of global communications, leading Xerox's public relations, internal and corporate communications, and community relations initiatives.

Carone joined Xerox in 1996 as communications manager for the company's manufacturing and supply chain division. Previously she served as corporate media relations manager and head of corporate public relations. In July 2007, she broadened her role to include all worldwide public relations activities and was named to head up Xerox's newly created Global Communications organization.
