A Brisbane outlet of Worldwide Online Printing has upped its production pedigree and is sending less work to the hub by installing first Xerox Color 800/1000 press across the group.
Wayne Mackay, owner of the Market Street store, said increased capacity and single-pass duplex motivated the decision to upgrade from a DocuColor 5000 to the new Color 800 model, which prints at 80 A4 pages per minute (ppm).
Mackay, who also owns outlets in Charlotte Street and Chermside, added that Market Street was winning work from across the Worldwide network thanks to the new machine's clear toner, which it brands as 'CrystalKote'.
"We were very impressed by the clear ink feature when we saw it, and we added more finishing features to our press to give us more options than we've had in the past.
"The customers we've shown are very impressed with it. Some have been converted already. We've found that real estate agents like the effect on their images.
"It makes the photos really 'jump' off the page, and one of our clients uses it on brochures for Mag wheels. He says it really lifts them off the rest of the artwork," he added.
The Color 800 and 100ppm Color 1000 models were launched in last August. Users include Dashing Print, Scott Print, Docs on Call, Print Bound, Snap Printing Clarence St, Classic Colour Copy, Graphic Source, and AdColour.
