Why are MFP manufacturers not GREEN!

You've hear it over and over, it's all about capturing pages, especially in the SMB market place. So, why do MFP manufacturers like Canon, Xerox, Ricoh and Konica Minolta continue to manufacture stand alone laser printers that have a high per page cost with thier AIO cartdiges (All In One) and are not good for the environment?

Since I have sold Ricoh for so long, I'll start with a Ricoh MFP161, this unit can be purchased as just a copier, ..... go here for rest of articlewww.mfpsolutions.blogspot.com

All Ricoh AIO kits are sent to customers with a prepaid (in Norway) post label. The customer return the used AIO kit, and ricoh send it to Ricoh Europe. For more information about Ricoh environment activeties, please go to www.ricoh.com

Look up ECONOMICS, the banner ad on the top left. Also please read the Ricoh sustainability report. If you are interested in the environment it is great stuff.

In the UK sending the used cartridges has been happening since at least 2000 i think even further back. Ricoh also in the UK have a Green centre in Wellingborough which recycles everything from cardboard to whole machines this has been operating from 2004 i think it was.

Yes, we have recycling here in the US as well, I think the point is that no matter what program you have, there will never be 100% returns on all those cartridges.

Even 1 of them going to landfill is an environmental impact that isn't seen with a simple "toner bottle" approach that could be recycled more easily.
