We should be able to support all. Two proposals for IT hardware have failed and I thought they would. Existing client has an inside Dell sales person. We have a distributor alliance or something like that with Dell. Plain & simple we will never less expensive than Dell for Dell equipment. I explain it this way, it's like us buying equipment from RBS and then reselling it. It ain't gonna happen!
Yes I agree. Never going to buy it cheaper than the name on the box. I was asked this week at the canon road show by a higher up from canon, when talking about dealers getting the Oce wide format on the dealer channel, "why I don't just buy it from Canon Solutions America." When I laughed and said it was because they were a direct competitor and I wouldn't buy a pencil from CSA, the person said what's the problem other than your buying it from our "wholly owned subsidiary." I said you mean the canon branch?...that's the problem. End of conversation other than "we are working to get the Oce line into the dealer channel like everything else."
Who buys a car fro GM or Ford? NO! You buy it from a Dealer, a LOCAL Dealer! Why because they have the Service, supports, and Parts Infrastructure LOCALLY!!!! Not in NJ or Atlanta or Ca. The Local dispatcher knows the difference between Gloucester and Worcester and KNOWS that they are NOT next to each other. They know the local weather, so why it may be a beautiful day in Atlanta where the _BS (Direct) Branch has it's dispatch we've got 3 feet of snow in New England.
