What's the deal with the "new" Savin 816mf and 9021d series systems and sorting?!?!

When trying to sort larger quantity sets (not that large) the memory is exceeded. This seems to be a step backwards in R&D. I can understand the need to make products less expensive, but there's not even a memory upgrade for these machines.

I've seen the memory exceeded when sorting on these with less than 20 originals! Why make a machine with a 30/50 sheet feeder and not make sure it can sort?

Now I have to ask my prospect if they are interested in saving money by combining their copier and fax and then figure out if they are going to sort more than 10 pages at a time, come on!

To quote my service manager, "there's a flaw in that system"...I hope they come out with "e" versions soon.

Anyone else running into this?

***Update****

In reviewing the information, it seems I may have been wrong and that these machines do have the same as their predecessors. However, I never ran into this problem before now. I don't know if it has to do with the way the memory is shared or the fact that these machines are so inexpensive that they are stealing sales that should be handled by 25ppm machines.

My only suggestion is to be aware of it before it becomes a problem.
