Watkiss Automation is exhibiting at Ipex on stand S2-E170, where the company will demonstrate wide range of equipment for the modern print shop.
Watkiss is the leading UK manufacturer of print finishing equipment; and is also the UK distributor for a range of guillotines, perfect binders and laminators.
Highlights on the Watkiss stand include:
- On show for the first time, is the PowerSquare 224 booklet making system. This is the next-generation booklet maker in the PowerSquare range. “It will be a real crowd pleaser” explains Paul Attew, sales director “ because it brings greater automation to the booklet making process without any compromises to quality, it connects to a wider range of printers than ever before; and it has been engineered for the production environment, handling both black & white and colour output with ease to produce stitched, SquareBack books up to 224 pages thick.”
The machine features a new dynamic auto-adjustment system that ensures quality performance regardless of book thickness, allowing uninterrupted running when streaming jobs, or when printing variable content documents that have different page-counts. “Stitch quality is fundamental to book quality, and the PowerSquare 224 is unique in producing a perfect stitch regardless of whether the book has 2 pages or 224 pages, and without operator adjustment” explains Attew.
There will be two PowerSquare 224s on show, one will be producing full-bleed colour booklets from a Konica Minolta printer; the other will be demonstrating the versatility of a near-line system with a high capacity sheet feeder. - To meet the ever increasing demand for short-run hand-fed bookletmaking, Watkiss are showing two new booklet makers: The BookMaster Pro 30 booklet maker which features a new android based touch-screen user interface to reduce and simplify make ready time; and an increased stapling capacity; which makes this powerful unit a very attractive proposition for any print room.
The CuceA3 entry-level booklet maker which processes sheets from A5 to A3+ with standard or loop staples into booklets or edge-stapled sets. - A new range of hot and cold laminators from Italian manufacturer Mamo will be on show. The range includes models suitable for a wide range of applications, from a small table-top unit to a high capacity suction feed automatic model for high volume use. The range also includes wide format models.
Other products on show include Watkiss’ range of collators, the Document Finishing System, Mohr guillotines and perfect binders.
Ends.
