Bytes Document Solutions (BDS), a division of Bytes Technology Group and the authorised Xerox distributor in 26 sub-Saharan African countries, today announced the appointment of Warren Mande as Sales Director – Key Accounts.
Mande will head up direct sales for Xerox, where he will be responsible for business development, market proposition design and overall sales performance.
He will also champion BDS’ managed print services (MPS) vision – which enables organisations to deploy a personalised print service, giving them visibility and control of printing spend, improving corporate efficiencies and delivering a competitive advantage.
Says Mande: “I am committed to identifying ways to ensure that corporate South Africa finds improved methods to engage with office automation providers. I want to break stereotypes within the industry by demonstrating that managed print services will deliver real value for companies within their IT infrastructure. In fact, my ultimate message is not focused on only ‘printing’, but rather a holistic approach to any organisation’s information communication environment.
“With the emerging trends in IT of BYOD (bring your own device), instant communication, tablet computing and personalised communication 1:1 marketing, we (at Xerox) understand that the traditional ‘printing’ business model is changing fast, so we anticipate trends and adjust our MPS strategy accordingly.
“Managing print is our (Xerox’s) speciality; we have and continue to lead this market.”
According to Xerox UK Director and General Manager, Channels Group Operations, Mark Duffelen, Mande brings a wealth of experience in MPS and is ideally placed to capitalise on the market growth the company is experiencing worldwide. “He has been highly successful in implementing a world-class MPS offering in the UK, which secured many significant new contracts for Bytes and Xerox. So with Xerox’s market leading tools and Warren’s vision and record of executing in a competitive market, BDS is well positioned for ongoing success.”
Wayne Allen, Partner Sales Manager for MFP & OEM Imaging Group in the UK, agrees with Duffelen, saying: “I have worked with Warren for the past few years and can say without hesitation that he has made a very positive impact on our business growth within Bytes, specifically through his understanding of how our products enhance an MPS offering. Warren’s success working alongside our business to develop customer-focused solutions has really improved the sales team's 'solutions' knowledge. He has tremendous drive and, while it is sad to see him move from the UK operation, I wish him well in his new role.”
Mande joined BDS in 2003, first as Commercial Manager and then Executive Sales Director based in the UK for seven years. Before BDS, Mande was an attorney at Webber Wentzel Bowens.
He has a BComm Commerce, and LLB Law, from the University of the Witwatersrand as well as a Management Advancement Diploma from the Wits Business School.
