Ubeo Business Services, a printing and electronic document management company, said Tuesday that it has acquired AmPan Business Systems, an East Texas technology company.
Financial terms of the deal were not released.
Ubeo is co-headquartered in Austin and San Antonio and provides printer, copier and office equipment sales and services. Founded in 2004, the company employs about 1,000 people, with about 335 of those in Austin and San Antonio. The company has operations in Central Texas, North Texas, East Texas, California and Louisiana.
Founded in 1994, AmPan Business Systems is based in Port Neches, which is south of Beaumont. The company will continue to operate under its existing name, according to a news release, and will retain its current leadership, which includes Greg Hunt, the company’s president. Hunt previously worked with Ubeo Business Services president and CEO Jim Sheffield in Austin in the 1990s.
“Even back then, I knew Greg would be a huge asset to any team,” Sheffield said in a written statement. “When the opportunity came to do business together again, it was a no-brainer. Given what he’s done with AmPan--cultivating a standard of excellence in customer service and relations--we’re proud and humbled to have AmPan join the UBEO brand.”
The acquisition is the seventh of the year for Ubeo. The company acquired San Antonio-based PrintRX and Corpus Christi-based Braswell Office Systems in March. That followed the January acquisition of South Texas office equipment dealer Core Business Solutions and its subsidiary, Copyzone.
Ubeo Business Services is owned by New York-based private equity firm Sentinel Capital Partners, which acquired it in May 2018.
