TWAIN Member Company P3iD Technologies to Offer TWAIN Direct API as Professional Hosted Web Service

Raleigh, NC – October 26, 2023 – The TWAIN Working Group (TWG), a not-for-profit organization providing and fostering a universal public standard for image acquisition devices, announced today that member company P3iD Technologies is now offering the TWAIN Direct API as a professional hosted web service. This service will simplify the adoption and development of the TWAIN Direct standard within scanning applications.
TWAIN Direct is a free, open-source standard that eliminates the need for users to install vendor-specific drivers to communicate between scanning devices and image-capture software applications. It supports direct network communication between mobile and/or desktop applications and scanning devices, including cloud platforms. TWAIN Direct addresses the need for something simple and direct that expedites application development and results in a feature-rich end-user scanning experience
The TWAIN Direct API hosted service offering is available for any commercial organizations or businesses, as well as new and existing TWAIN Working Group members, students, and non-profit organizations.
