IRVINE, Calif. (Dec. 1, 2009) – Toshiba Business Solutions Inc. (TBS) today announced that industry veteran Jim Hawkins has joined the Toshiba family as vice president of Operations. Hawkins, who has been working in the office solutions industry for 24 years, spent the majority of his career at Danka Office Imaging where he developed a strong background in sales, marketing and operations. Most recently, Hawkins was senior vice president of Field Operations for Danka, where he oversaw approximately 250 employees and led an executive team of nine direct reports.

As vice president of Operations for TBS, Hawkins will be a lead TBS resource inside the TABS headquarters in Irvine, Calif. and is charged with setting the tactical vision for the TBS channel, interfacing and coordinating daily operational efforts with regional managers, TBS Finance, TABS Human Resources and Legal. He will champion and oversee the development and direction of plans and programs for achieving TBS’s and individual TBS subsidiary operational/revenue objectives, as well as ensure that business plans are as cost-effective as possible. He will direct, manage and lead operational process-reengineering evaluations to optimize the overall productivity of TBS subsidiaries. Additionally, he will spearhead the development and implementation of operational processes resulting in the acquisition and operation of acquired companies.
Hawkins obtained his Bachelor of Science from the University of Central Florida. He also participated in the Lead-On “Building High Performance Teams” two-year leadership program from 2006-2008.
