Toshiba Division Moves to Energy-efficient, 445,419 Square-foot Campus with a New State-of-the-Art Product Innovation Center and Training Facility
IRVINE, Calif. (Sept. 4, 2012) — Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. (http://business.toshiba.com), a leading manageddocument services (MDS) provider and business printing solutions innovator, today announced it has completed its national headquarters move to 9740 Irvine Blvd., in Irvine, Calif. Previously located at 2 Musick Dr., Irvine, Calif., Toshiba America Business Solutions now joins Toshiba America Information Systems to share the campus facilities and implement clean energy solutions to benefit both divisions.
“Our decision to move our national headquarters to the larger Toshiba campus is part of a long-term goal to improve both operational and facility efficiencies,” said Mark Mathews, president and CEO, Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. “We are currently in the final stages of building a new Innovation Center that will showcase Toshiba’s industry-leading MFPs, document and workflow solutions, digital signage, and barcode printers as well as a newly built training facility featuring state-of-the-art technology allowing us to better train our network of dealers and subsidiaries.”
In addition to a new state-of-the-art Innovation Center and training facility, the campus features a solar energy system as part of Toshiba’s ongoing effort to improve the company’s sustainability efforts. A canopy structure containing solar panels has been built in the facility’s parking lot. The heart of the solar power system is Toshiba’s photovoltaic inverter created and implemented by Toshiba International Corporation. This will generate 105 kilowatts of solar power and offset the power needed to run the facility’s server room which is already more energy efficient due to the use of “green” implementations and methods. The net effect is that when the solar array is operational, these server-based business applications for both companies will be virtually free of a carbon footprint and share the environmental benefits of utilizing clean energy.
