IRVINE, Calif. (Jan. 18, 2008) – Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today introduced the e-STUDIO™353/453 multifunction product (MFP) series. This digital MFP series, built with Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE architectural design, offers advanced networking features, a fast processor, excellent image quality and comprehensive device management capabilities. The e-STUDIO353/453 has a build-to-order design, allowing businesses to customize their device to best suit their business needs, ranging from a stand-alone copier to a fully integrated MFP.
“Toshiba’s e-STUDIO353/453 is a highly versatile and affordable MFP that offers a full range of capabilities and power features that can seamlessly be incorporated into numerous business processes and document management workflows,” said Joe Contreras, director, Product and Solutions Marketing for TABS. “TABS is pleased to continue adding quality products to its fleet of e-STUDIO machines, offering customers endless business workflow options for workgroups of any size.”
Ideal for medium-sized workgroups, the e-STUDIO353/453 vertical market includes banks, insurance companies, law firms, real estate companies and engineering/architecture firms, and also is approved for use in health care-based business environments. The e-STUDIO353/453 is an update to TABS’ multiple award-winning series, the e-STUDIO352/452.
Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE Technology
The e-STUDIO353/453 series is built on Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE architecture, which incorporates networking capabilities into the core design of the device to deliver Internet-ready, mobile/wireless-ready and solution-ready technology. The hardware design boasts efficiencies in image processing by sharing system resources to complete an increased number of tasks in a shorter period of time. Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE products support the seamless communication and integration of Toshiba MFPs into many existing business document workflows and IT infrastructures.
Copy and Print Capabilities
The e-STUDIO353/453 series features document output speeds of 35 and 45 pages-per-minute (PPM) respectively. Other features include 2400 x 600 dpi resolution, standard trayless duplexing, two large 550-sheet cassettes, and an additional 100-sheet stack feed bypass to accommodate special and heavier stock papers.
By upgrading the e-STUDIO353/453 series with printing capabilities, users add parallel and network cross-platform printing supporting Windows, Unix and Macintosh operating systems over a wide variety of common network protocols. Standard printer languages include PCL 6® and PostScript™ 3, combined with a sizeable 40GB hard disk drive to process large print jobs and support advanced print features. These features facilitate business requirements outside of many standard stand-alone printers, including professional finishing options such as hole punching, stapling, duplexing and booklet making.
Scan and Fax Functionality
Users also can configure the e-STUDIO353/453 series to function as a robust network-scanning device capable of scanning up to 50 originals per minute with user selectable resolutions up to 600 dpi. The series supports dual-sided scanning, mixed original scanning and continuous scanning up to 1,000 pages. Integrating the e-STUDIO353/453’s scanning feature into an organization’s workflow when coupled with a document management software solution provides complete digitization of all hardcopy documents with easy storage and retrieval capabilities.
In addition to printing and scanning, the Toshiba e-STUDIO353/453 series outputs facsimiles at 45 PPM and offers fast 33.6 Kbps walk-up faxing, network faxing, and Internet faxing, yielding scan speeds of 0.7 seconds per page and transmission speeds of three seconds per page. The e-FILING function on the e-STUDIO343/453 series offers 200 private user mailboxes and one public box. Users can create individual password protected mailboxes and input documents into the box via scanning, printing from the desktop, fax, or Internet fax. The public box offers storage of frequently requested documents, such as human resources forms, or corporate documents and policies, allowing users to print all documents on demand, thereby saving paper and storage space.
High Reliability
The e-STUDIO353/453 series incorporates four service modules—the developer unit, cleaning unit, charger unit and fuser unit—addressing the most frequently serviced components. These modules enhance the device’s reliability, simplify maintenance and minimize downtime. The e-STUDIO353/453 also offers a Scan Once Copy Many feature, which reduces wear and tear on the Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (RADF). Furthermore, the e-STUDIO353 has a monthly duty cycle of 120,000, while the e-STUDIO453 offers a monthly copy volume of up to 150,000.
The e-STUDIO353/453, as with all e-STUDIO MFPs, is eCopy™ ready to connect an organization's e-mail and other networked applications for low-cost, easy, instantaneous distribution, and management of scanned documents.
