IRVINE, Calif., (Feb. 9, 2010) – Toshiba America Business Solutions Inc. (TABS) today announced the development and release of the e-BRIDGE Document Library. This latest Toshiba-developed software operates with all Toshiba Open Platform-enabled multifunction products (MFPs) and provides users with greater work efficiency and productivity in any location, such as a corporate office, home office, or while traveling.

With Document Library, Toshiba e-BRIDGE users have their filing cabinet at the tips of their fingers. Simply scan any document directly from the MFP’s control panel and it will be stored as a searchable digital file, reducing paper pile-ups and printing costs. When a user is ready to retrieve the document, regardless of their location, they simply open the Document Library interface in their favorite Web browser and search for the document by any key word in the document text or by its filing tag. This allows information to be accessed at anytime and anywhere, which is key for fast-paced, global business environments.

“Our goal with offering Document Library is to help authorized Toshiba dealers introduce their small-to-mid-sized customers to the ease and value of document management systems. By being an affordable solution for any size business, Document Library can reduce a company’s overall operational costs through reduced print needs and improved employee productivity and efficiency,” said Joe Contreras, director, Product and Solutions Marketing, TABS. “Prior to Document Library, basic document management meant making a significant investment decision. Toshiba has removed that obstacle for the small businesses – the backbone of today’s economy.”

Toshiba-Developed Open Platform Technology
Administration has never been easier or more customizable than with Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE Open Platform technology. With the click of a mouse, administrators can set and deploy company-wide security rules, settings, defaults and scanning guidelines from one centralized location to their entire fleet of Toshiba’s Open Platform-enabled MFPs, providing dramatically improved control, security and efficiency.

Toshiba’s e-BRIDGE Document Library is the third in a series of Toshiba-developed connectors that provide greater levels of third-party application integration for Toshiba’s Open Platform-enabled MFPs. These connectors also will meet customer needs for increasing office productivity and efficiency and reducing overall print management costs. Dealers and customers can look forward to an expansion of the Open Platform portfolio of external application software partners in the coming months. For solutions not currently supported by Toshiba-developed connectors, Toshiba offers eCopy as the connectivity add-on.

The Toshiba e-BRIDGE Open Platform Connectors for Document Library can be purchased through local Toshiba authorized dealers. Visit www.copiers.toshiba.com to search for an authorized Toshiba dealer by location.
