SUB CODING

Not sure if that is possible, since all faxes are different. I am sure the mway to go about entering sub codes would be different for each system.

Alas the what you talk about has always been the "sore spot" when selling sub addressing. Each user sending will have to remember to enter the sub code and then how to enter the sub code for each system.

The answer may rely in the "one touch" program mode. Pre-enter the fax number and the sub addressing, from there it can be a one touch key for everyone.

Anyone else have some ideas?

Internet faxing would be a better solution. If the sender makes a mistake the fax would be public. With IF it could be sent to Email address, very secure. Or, have the fax forward all incoming to one Email address, that person can print or forward to the individual.

If the sub code is a for example the 4 digit number that you have to input when you get a 2nd dialtone, then this will do the trick:

dial the faxnumber and then press the pause key twice (maybe even more) and then input the subcode. This will create a pause between the faxnumber and the subcode.
This works with almost all brands.

oN A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS THAT A CUSTOMER HAS INQUIRED QBOUT SUB ADDRESSING, WE HAVE STEERED THEM INTO INTERNET FAXING. AS V-TEC EXPLAINED IT IS MUCH MORE SECURE PLUS EASIER TO SET UP AND USE.

School me. Doesn't internet faxing rely on both parties to have the capability. Sorry for the ignorance.

The recipient only needs an email address.
Scan to email and Internet fax are very similar.
They use different screens of the MFP and IF will return a receipt as it is a "fax" and scan to email is just, you know, email.

Scanning to email then, forwarding to recipient will give you a copy of what was sent and you can get a receipt. With Internet fax you can get receipt but you have go to doc server to view fax, hope it wasn’t deleted.
It's all a matter of preference.
