The Starke County Commissioners discussed a proposed service contract and the purchase of a new copy machine during their meeting Monday.
Starke County Treasurer Lauri Venckus stated the Assessor’s and Treasurer’s offices share a copy machine that is need of a total replacement. She added the current copier takes care of the office’s scanning, copying, faxing and printing needs.
Venckus told the commissioners she had found a used used copier that would be an update for their offices. She formally asked the commissioners to approve the purchase of the used copier in the amount of $4,500. She went on to propose a service contract with Kemp’s Office City to routinely upkeep the copy machine. The contract would cost the county $65.83 per month.
Commissioner Mark Gourley made a motion to approve the purchase of the new copy machine and service contract. That motion was seconded. The commissioners approved the purchase and service contract unanimously by vote.
