NEW HAVEN, CONN., October 6, 2015 – On Thursday October 1, 2015, The Cannata Report, the leading media resource of the office products and workflow solutions industry, celebrated its 30th Anniversary Awards & Charities Dinner with Square 9 Softworks as lead sponsor. This year’s annual event benefited research for esophageal cancer through an endowment with the V Foundation for Cancer Research in the name of Robert “Bob” Shields, former President of Copytronics, Inc.
As part of the highly respected event, CJ Cannata, Partner and SVP of Brand Strategy at The Cannata Report, presented two special awards, new to the annual dinner. The two award winners were determined by The Cannata Report’s annual dealer survey conducted every spring/summer with the 2015 results stemming from over 280 respondents. With great excitement, Cannata presented the inaugural award for “Best Software Developer,” to Square 9 Softworks, stating that the award was established “in alignment with the rate at which growing dealers are increasingly moving to a solutions-oriented sale and a services orientation.”
“The first software developer to ever receive an award at a Cannata Dinner was Square 9 Softworks,” said Frank G. Cannata, President, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of The Cannata Report. “To determine the winner, we asked dealers a very simple question in our 2015 Annual Dealer Survey: ‘Which of your vendors excluding leasing companies and manufacturers provides products, services and support, enabling dealers to achieve your desired objectives?’ It is clear that Square 9 continues to perform in a highly professional and skillful manner that is well-received by their dealers.”
The Cannata Report has been evaluating the strength of independent dealers via their Annual Dealer Survey, emphasizing the sales and technology side of the business for the past 30 years. Against some of the industry’s top players, DocuWare, PaperCut and LMI Solutions, Square 9 emerged with the most favorable feedback.
“Square 9 is proud to have been the lead sponsor of the 2015 Cannata Dinner in support of esophageal cancer research,” said Stephen Young, President & CEO of Square 9 Softworks. “To be honored as the 2015 Best Software Developer by The Cannata Report due to the results of their 2015 Annual Dealer Survey was not only unexpected but incredibly gratifying.”
The prestigious event netted $153,000 in total proceeds for The V Foundation for Cancer Research to fund an Esophageal Cancer Research Grant in honor of Bob Shields and Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon, in part through the event’s first-ever silent auction.
