Sports Scores on your copier!

Videos played from a sports website do not work well on a Toshiba copier.  I think that capability is well past what the designers ever intended.

I have placed a few one touch buttons for the Weather Network on customers copiers.  They find it amusing.  It only takes me a minute to configure.

I am told you can do the same on a Ricoh.

What brands has everyone played with this on. We are Canon, Sharp and KM. I'm thinking we could do it on the sharp but probably not the Canon or Konica.

So just for fun, I created a one touch icon on the LCD panel for scan to email to myself and put my face on the one touch button.  It takes only two minutes to resize the PNG file with free IrfanView.

So just for fun, we had a pet shop come in for a copier demo and we resized different dog's head icons onto different scan to folder icons on the LCD panel.  Each icon had the employees name beneath the picture. The owner went wow (or bow wow) and we got the deal.  We were his 3rd demo and the first two demos were all about speeds, feeds and how great our Service Dept is.

I am not suggesting you do this for every install as it is an extra task your Service Dept will push back on when setting up a copier.

The new Konica Minolta i-Series copiers not yet released in North America look to have a similar capability.

When the first Ricoh smart displays came out I had one playing a playlist of youTube videos.  It was a cute novelty but honestly haven't messed with the web abilities since.  

I agree this capability is a cute novelty but it does illustrate when performing live demos that a modern 2019 copier is essentially a proprietary tablet computer with a printer attached to it.

I bought a 10" tablet computer a couple of years ago for personal use.  The LCD panel on my copier is as large as the my tablet computer when laid on top of each other.
