I was told the other day that we are not going and not allowed to sell the lower A4 color & mono MFP's from Ricoh.
Thus, if someone wants color and the volume is very low, I have to either walk away or try to sell them the color A4 MP C307SP. With a black device, it's the MP 301SPF.
Now, I have multiple clients that have larger A3 devices that have bough many of the lower A4 color & monochrome devices. Usually I'll sell the black devices for about $1K and the color for $1.3k. I'm not making big bucks on these, but I am offering the right device for the volume. Plus, I'm keeping the customer from going elsewhere.
In addition, since there are no more stand alone fax machines available, a few clients have purchased the small black A4 MFP and just used it as a fax.
I have an appointment tomorrow o replace a small color A4 device that was placed 5 years ago. I can see it now, you want how much for the MP C307SP?
What ever happened to just taking care of the customer and doing the right thing and not trying to over sell them?
