Software tips for Aficio 240W

The steps outlined in the word document aren't for batch plotting .DWGs as stated, they are for batch plotting .PLT files.

This is an important disctinction since other solutions (such as Océ's Reprodesk) allow for batch plotting of .DWGs without the intermediate step of creating .PLT files.

As long as you have a FULL version (NOT lite) of AutoCAD on the plotbase server, you can batch print DWG files.

No AutoCad on the PB server, you are linmited to PLT, TIFF, PDF (if postscript option enabled)

If you are submitting a job from a remote desktop that has AutoCad on it, you do NOT need AutoCad at the PB Server. When you plot from Autocad, our dialog box comes up. There is a pull down window that you can change to say "Generate Set". If you send multiple plots, you will have to change the pull down window for each plot unless you set the change as a "default". (This can be then changed back to give the ability to send individual plots in the future.) When you send multiple files, AutoCad will perform it's "regeneration" and then send the images to Plotclient Win. You will actually see the Plotclient Win application launch without human intervention and the AutoCad files will drop into the area for Entries. Within Plotclient, you will then need to set the number of collated sets that you desire and then press the printer icon. The job is actually sent from Plotclient Win to the SSL folder and then printer from PB Server.

I would agree with the Bandito, AutoCAD on the server would save alot of steps. After all, isn't that what computers are suppose to do??
