- IDC reported that the overall shipment value of hardcopy peripherals (i.e. printers and MFPs) increased 0.9% during last quarter of 2019 calendar year
o Revenue increase most likely due to 4.9% increase of color laser based units, instead of b/w
- Unit shipments however declined 5.4% to 25.3 million units
- Top vendors (includes consumer desktop units as well as commercial units, inkjet, laser, etc.)
o HP = 9,774,917 units, down 9.1%
o Canon = 5,429,210 units, down 9%
o Epson = 4,810,454 units, up 14% (due to increased sales of ink tank inkjet printers)
o Brother = 2,028,628 units, down 1.8%
o Kyocera = 478,191 units, down 8.6%
