SOMERSET, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SHI International Corp., one of America’s top 10 largest IT solutions providers, topped $8.5 billion in revenue in 2017, up 12 percent over 2016. This record year—the first in which SHI eclipsed $8 billion—was fueled by SHI’s efforts to expand its capabilities to fulfill customer needs and position itself for future growth. During 2017, SHI launched its Public Cloud Support Services Program, built out its IT asset management practice with the acquisition of eTelligent, and cut the ribbon on its Executive Briefing Center.
“That’s the question that drives our every action. We’re able to answer it every day by cultivating partnerships old and new; dedicating time and resources to advancing our employees’ careers, expertise, and aptitudes; and always anticipating what our customers will need to meet their business objectives.”
SHI’s Corporate and SMB division led the record-breaking 2017 in the U.S. with 21 percent growth in revenue year over year, while international growth remained strong, with the U.K. up 28 percent over 2016. The Commercial and Strategic Enterprise division grew 10 percent year over year, and the Public Sector unit grew 5 percent.
Microsoft remained SHI’s top partner in 2017, growing 15 percent over 2016, while Amazon Web Services (AWS) was the fastest growing top-tier partner for the second year in a row, with a 62 percent leap in the past year. Cisco saw the second-fastest growth of the top group, with revenue 33 percent higher than in 2016. Dell, HP Inc., VMware, Lenovo, Adobe, Apple, HP Enterprise, and Symantec rounded out the list of SHI’s top 11 partners, a group that saw an average per-partner revenue growth of 17 percent.
“Over the last 18 months, SHI has made significant investments in onboarding additional resources and expertise in support of public and hybrid cloud solutions featuring technologies such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud,” said Thai Lee, President and CEO of SHI. “Through intense in-house training and aggressive talent acquisition, we’ve become a holistic resource for customers, capable of supporting both the technology and the business aspects needed to enable and support advanced IT solutions. Customers can lean on SHI’s extended team of account executives and advanced solutions architects as they deploy and manage secure cloud, networking, end-user, and data center solutions.”
SHI’s Public Cloud Support Services Program, launched in 2017, offers customers combined professional and managed services to help them manage the technical, financial, and corporate governance aspects of AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud. SHI also joined the AWS Managed Service Provider (MSP) Partner Program after a rigorous third-party validation audit that recognized SHI’s cloud capabilities and the value it brings to customers.
Investments in other areas further built out SHI’s capabilities. By acquiring eTelligent Solutions, Inc., SHI adds depth and breadth to its already comprehensive IT asset lifecycle services to help customers better manage their IT from requisition through decommission. In addition, SHI opened its Executive Briefing Center, a state-of-the-art venue for customer and partner meetings at its world headquarters in Somerset.
Once again in 2017, SHI was honored by the media and its partners, achieving the following rankings and accolades:
- Forbes’ 2017 List of America’s Best Midsize Employers
- Forbes’ 2017 List of America’s Largest Private Companies
- Citi Lean Partner Award
- McAfee Partner of the Year

“Our record-breaking revenue, thriving partnerships, and expanded capabilities are SHI’s answer to one question: How can technology help our customers succeed?” Lee said. “That’s the question that drives our every action. We’re able to answer it every day by cultivating partnerships old and new; dedicating time and resources to advancing our employees’ careers, expertise, and aptitudes; and always anticipating what our customers will need to meet their business objectives.”
