Sharp to launch new color Print Production in Q1 of 202
- Will replace the MX-7090N and MX-8090N models
- New models are the BP-90C70 and BP-90C80 “light production” color laser systems made by Sharp, a division of Foxconn of Taiwan (aka Hon Hai Precision)
- C70 model offers 70ppm color and 75ppm b/w speeds
- C80 model offers 80ppm color or b/w top speeds
- Optional finishing now includes:
- new curl correction unit
- GBC SmartPunch Plus
- Advertised as offering 2400x2400dpi (bit depth not mentioned)
- Handles up to 360gsm/130lb. cover stocks
- Document feeder scans both sides of original at same time
- C70 offers 200ipm or 100opm
- C80 offers 280ipm or 140opm
- Built-in print controller:
- 256GB SSD
- Optional 512GB SSD
- Optional data security kit
- Optional anti-virus kit (BitDefender?)
- Optional EFI Fiery print servers
- Also announced that it will relabel the Fujifilm production color system (known as the Xerox Iridesse) and call it the Sharp BP-1200S
