Sharp Rolls Out Light-Production Color Systems, Announces Reseller Partnership at National Dealer Meeting
At its 2012 National Dealer Meeting being held in Dallas, TX, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) rolled out five new MFPs designed for high-volume departmental and production environments, including long-awaited high-volume color units, as well as a new cloud portal for access to Sharp and third-party solutions, and also a distribution agreement with New Jersey-based reseller SHI International Corporation.
Doug Albregts, who was appointed president of Sharp Imaging and Information last November, opened the conference, “Sharp is upgrading its hardware, software and alliances to best serve our dealers and partner community, which is the foundation for this year’s theme of Irresistible Force. Leading up to this dealer meeting, we spent a significant amount of time speaking with our end users and dealer council, and we are excited to layout our strategic direction for growth.”
SHI International Partnership
Under a new partnership, SHI International will sell Sharp office-imaging systems and commercial display systems. SHI, which is headquartered in Somerset, NJ, is a global reseller of IT hardware and software, including PC workstations and Hewlett-Packard, Canon, Lexmark, Brother, Dell and Xerox printers and MFPs, as well as ink and toner supplies. It also provides services for deployment planning and configuration; data center optimization; IT asset management and cloud computing. It has 26 offices across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France and Hong Kong, and 1,900 employees worldwide, and counts among its customers many Fortune 500 countries. Approved independent Sharp dealers would provide service and supplies to new customers.
Hercules II Light-Production Series
Sharp previewed its new Hercules II series, which it will ship this fall, and which consist of the light-production monochrome 90-ppm MX-M904, 105-ppm MX-M1054 and 120-ppm MX-M1204 for high-volume office environments, all with Sharp’s new air-feed paper handling (see below).
Polaris MX-6240N and MX-7040N Color MFPs
The A3 (print and scan on up to 11″x17) Polaris Office MX-6240N and MX-7040N are light-production color systems designed for high-volume office use, including production of high-volume print jobs previously outsourced, and for use in corporate reprographic departments.
