SHARP® IMAGING AND INFORMATION COMPANY OF AMERICA ANNOUNCES SEVERAL PROMOTIONS AND ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES

Moves streamline operations to better serve customers
Mahwah, NJ, May 25, 2011 – Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, today announced several personnel and organizational changes that will take place immediately. The moves are designed to better align company functions to enhance the organization’s operational focus and industry-leading customer service.

Mike Marusic has been promoted to Senior Vice President of the Business Solutions Group (BSG), responsible for expanding the ProAV channel and further strengthening Sharp’s relationships with corporate accounts.

“Mike has successfully led the marketing teams for several years now and we are confident that his experience will continue to help the company thrive,” said Ed McLaughlin, president of Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “These organizational changes are being made to create a clearer path for sales and marketing to focus on their key markets, operations and support groups. This will better leverage our investments and expertise in each respective business area which are the keys to our future success.”

Other key personnel changes include Cliff Quiroga’s appointment to Associate Vice President of the new Product and Marketing Group, which combines SIICA’s former Product Management, Channel Marketing and Corporate and Government Marketing Teams. Additionally, the American Technical Support Center (ATSC) in Camus, Washington, will report to Quiroga. The Product Management Group will be mainly responsible for Sharp’s Document, Point-of-Sale (POS) and Personal Tools businesses as the company continues to expand its product offerings in these areas.

One of Sharp’s main goals for these moves is to enhance the overall service to its customers by maximizing the efficiency of common support functions. This will be the responsibility of the newly formed Services organization, to be led by Associate Vice President Colin Regina, which will combine the former Training, QA, and Web Services Groups. Two new departments, Sharp Business Systems Integration (SBSi) and Field Services, will also be added to the Services Group to improve its overall support capabilities.

SIICA’s Document Indirect Sales Group will remain as previously aligned, but will now integrate the former Government Sales Group. The final two SIICA organizations, Sharp Business Systems and SIICA Operations Groups, remain unchanged.
