MAHWAH, NJ, August 10, 2011 -- Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA), a division of Sharp Electronics Corporation, today extended its MFP industry innovation leadership with the introduction of four mid-volume workgroup products. The Sharp MX-4110N, MX-4111N, MX-5110N and MX-5111N workgroup color document systems increase the company's portfolio of MFPs that leverages its groundbreaking smart-screen user interface. The new Sharp document systems combine the simplicity of touch-screen menu navigation with robust multi-tasking workflow features – with print speeds up to 41 PPM and 51 PPM.
"We are pleased with the incredibly popular reception our document systems' user interface has generated with dealers and customers," said George Grafanakis, senior product marketing manager, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. "Our MFPs build on our strong legacy of industry innovations that include advanced security, dual-head scanning, and Sharp OSA Technology, among many others. We will continue to innovate and deliver the features and capabilities that help our dealers make our end-user customers more productive."
First introduced earlier this year, Sharp's new MFP user interface delivers unprecedented interactivity, simplicity and customization to the document management experience. The user interface, similar to that of today's advanced smartphones, provides easy access to all MFP features, each of which are viewed as familiar icons. Users can perform all tasks in real-time using "flick", "tap", and "slide" and "drag" gestures on a large 10.1-inch color Sharp LCD touchscreen.
Additionally, icons perform the real-time tasks users intuitively expect them to, and the system smartly guides the user based on the previous command to help them quickly execute the desired function. The Sharp MX-4110N, MX-4111N, MX-5110N and MX-5111N are all highly customizable and offer users the ability to personalize the home screen by adding custom backgrounds, icons or language in just minutes. A full-size, retractable keyboard enables easy data entry.
The new Sharp MX-4110N, MX-4111N, MX-5110N and MX-5111N Color Series has been built on the latest Sharp OSA Development Platform, making integration with hundreds of network applications and cloud services easier than ever. In addition, these newest MFPs feature Sharp's latest addition to its industry leading security platform, an "End of Lease" security feature. At the push of a button, this feature erases all personal and confidential information stored by the machine, essentially restoring to virtually the same condition as when it first left the factory floor. This provides businesses of any size, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that its confidential and/or protected information is secure – even at trade in. Also available as a standard feature, is a new "persistent security" mode, which leverages both 256 bit encryption as well as overwrite protection to ensure that the customer's data is protected continuously, and not just at trade in.
Advantages for Dealers
The Sharp MX-4110N, MX-4111N, MX-5110N and MX-5111N deliver new levels of customization that enable dealers to develop tailored solutions for their customers – driving new opportunities, revenues and profits. The new interface enables dealers to help both advanced and novice MFP users. For example, dealers can create tailored screens that feature their customer's logo on the MFP. Different buttons can be easily created to handle simple and complex functions that enable users to easily execute jobs without the need to remember complex steps. Additionally, Sharp's new UI gives dealers the ability to create customized screens.
Energy Efficiency
The new series feature an energy-efficient belt-fusing system that offers low power consumption, fast warm-up and enhanced print quality. They are also ENERGY STAR® qualified and have an innovative energy-saving mode that can automatically adjust to changing usage patterns. The Sharp MX-4110N, MX-4111N, MX-5110N and MX-5111N also help reduce waste with a virtual proofing feature. Users can see and proof the entire document on the MFP's 10.1" high-resolution color touch-screen before printing. Output settings that include page layout and staple or hole-punch locations are also demonstrated onscreen to minimize mistakes when printing.
Quality
Sharp's enhanced second-generation micro-fine toner technology enables these MFP models to offer high-quality images page after page. The 1200 x 1200 dpi printing capability provides clear, crisp images even on jobs with fine detail. The Sharp MX-4110N, MX-4111N, MX-5110N and MX-5111N also feature support for paper up to 110 lb. index stock and "heavy media" (up to 140 lb. index stock).
Sharp's industry-leading ImageSEND® technology enables printing of up to 50 images per minute both in black and white and color. Easy search and identification of documents stored on these models is made possible by a robust 86 GB document filing system with thumbnail view and image preview. In addition, the models are available with a super G3 fax option that has intelligent inbound routing to email. The new MFPs also feature a network-ready PCL6 and PS3 printing system with direct print function and an XPS option.
