Can anyone expand on this?

Do the new Sharp's have built into them a wireless antenna? I do not see it mentioned anywhere in the brochures, not even as an option. I am aware of other manufacturers offering optional external antennas but this is the first I have heard it potentially built in at No Charge, kind of like a laptop's built in antenna.
I am surprised Sharp is not beating their drum more about this as I think it is an industry first.

I have been involved in several mobile print installs lately and they sometimes involve allowing non employees to use a companies wireless LAN. Usually you also need a PC turned on all of the time with a wireless app like Breezy installed and running on a local PC. This could be potentially problematic from a security point of view. Sharp's new approach by making the MFP the wireless access point for mobile printing would greatly reduce this threat in the eyes of the average buyer.

Sharp's approach might also make it simpler for the average user to connect and print. The user would likely have to install a Sharp app on their mobile device to make this happen but in my example they need to load a Breezy app.

You can purchase a Wireless router from Staples for $30.00 so how hard can it be to put that inside a copier as a standard feature?

SSG that is good info....thanks for sharing but this is really not that hard. You can use google print to send a print job to workstation that is running google chrome and configured with the local printer. I have done this from my living room as a test to 3 different printers and walked into the showroom when I got to the office and went around a retrieved all the print jobs. This is a FREE solution once configured properly.

I have not heard of Breezy before so will have to research that to learn more. Having sold Sharp in the past they use to have mobile app called Sharp Central Print not sure if that still is around....last time I looked in the app store I could not find it.

I think this application would be more important in a business center setup where you bring your own device. Canon has the Canon Mobile Print that is FREE and works great.

There are many ways to duplicate what sharp is doing....the bad part is that I am sure they have included this in the base price and I would question the overall security of the system.

You can also setup a guest network with a small printer in the lobby that guest can use to print on.
