MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced its Canon Mobile Scanning for Business App¹ for mobile devices supported by Android operating systems, including select tablets and smartphones. Canon Mobile Scanning for Business enables users in homes and offices to scan hard copy documents over their wireless network from a supported imageCLASS, imageRUNNER or imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunction printer (MFP) directly into their compatible Android device to support a user’s portability, distribution or backup needs.    

The Canon Mobile Scanning for Business App features the following tools:  

Intuitive MFP Communication    

The app can search for and identify compatible Canon MFPs within a       wireless broadcast range and automatically save these devices for future use. If the Canon MFP cannot be found within a wireless broadcast range, users can manually enter the IP address of the compatible Canon device to list it as one of their available scan devices. Once discovered², users can easily toggle between compatible devices to initiate scan jobs from multiple MFPs. 

Wide Range of Compatibility Aims to Provide a Satisfying End User       Experience    

The app supports Android Tablets and Smartphones running OS 4.0 - 4.4.2.    

Opportunity to Choose Scan Settings Helps Optimize Workflow    

A variety of built-in scanning options empower users to enhance control and performance. Users can tailor scan resolution, paper size, file   format, color mode and two-sided (duplex)³ scanning directly from the app.    

Scanned File Distribution Capability    

Once an original is scanned from a compatible MFP, users can opt to save the file to built-in local application storage (Camera Roll, My       Documents) for later retrieval, attach it to a pre-set email address for       distribution to colleagues, or open it into the Canon Mobile Printing       app to quickly print the file through a compatible device. 

Device Management    

Users can access detailed status information by linking to the device’s       remote user interface (web portal), which gives the user even greater       accessibility and capability to manage the equipment.
