This device is also the first in the scanner category to receive an EPEAT® Gold rating, the definitive global environmental rating system for electronics managed by the Green Electronics Council. User Friendly Scanning
The ScanFront 400 scanner provides users with a high-definition 10.1 inch color touchscreen that can be used to preview digitized documents during the scanning process to help ensure the information is captured correctly. Through the touchscreen interface, users can easily choose from a variety of scan destinations to help distribute the information to various locations. To better streamline information distribution, the ScanFront 400 device can display pre-configured job buttons for frequently used scan operations, helping cut down on valuable time spent having to adjust settings for different jobs. Users can also create address books to pre-register scan destinations of various types, or simply connect to an existing LDAP directory service.
Share Information Efficiently
Providing users with versatile options and enhanced speeds, the imageFORMULA ScanFront 400 device can scan both sides of a document in a single pass at up to 45 pages per minute.1 The device is also is capable of processing up to 6,000 documents per day, and features an automatic document feeder that fits up to 60 sheets, ideal for batch scanning tasks. To help better meet the demands of users, the ScanFront 400 device has the capability to handle a variety of document types of different sizes and consistencies, including receipts, driver licenses, photographs, invoices, contracts, and even passports (using an optional carrier sheet). Seeking to help improve collaboration and efficiency, users can send scanned documents to email, a shared folder, fax, USB drive, FTP server or printer, individually or simultaneously.

In addition to being named the first scanner in its product category to achieve EPEAT Gold rating, the ScanFront 400 device is also ENERGY STAR® certified, meeting the strict energy efficiency requirements of the program, and complies with both the EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) directive, for the reduction of hazardous substances and their potential impacts on the environment.
Secure and Manageable Document Capture
The ScanFront Administrator tool, included with the device, allows IT managers and professions to conveniently manage up to 1,000 ScanFront devices remotely through centralized management capabilities. IT managers can view status, update device firmware, back-up and restore configurations, and more to help ensure that all ScanFront devices in the scanner fleet are configured uniformly and functioning properly. The ScanFront 400 device features log-in device access and also supports Microsoft Active Directory and LDAP over SSL (LDAPS) to help provide secure user authentication.
Availability
The Canon imageFORMULA ScanFront 400 is now available for purchase. An optional Software Development Kit (SDK) is available to facilitate third-party integration development efforts, including customized business application and workflow integration, connectivity and branding.
