ScanRouter dials the internet

I set up a system with scanning on a network. The 1022 is shared using an NT Server, the clients are WIN98. There is also a shared dial-up modem for internet. Whenever ScanRouter Client is started, the internet is dialed. I noticed in the back of the manual, it mentions that this might happen, but it seems vague to my thick skull as to whether or not this is just going to happen on the initial installation or if I just can not use this without the dialing occurring. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

I read more about this in the DeskTopBinder Pro manual. I guess it is just going to happen. I assume then that I cannot use the ScanRouter Client and I will just save them as windows files and manually retrieve them with DeskTopBinder. Unless of course somebody has a more convenient working suggestion. Thnx.

Try to change your internet connection settings to "Never Dial A Connection". To do this, go to internet properties and connections and click the radio button under Never Dial a Connection. That may help solve your problem. You may need to do it in your e-mail program as well.

Thanks Graham. That won't work here because the computer that has the modem on it is in a different location and the users would have to go to it to click the connect button.
