I have an AF1045 prospect that wants faxes routed to a PC instead of printing. I know I need ScanRouter Pro, but they want everyone to be able to retrieve the faxes from that PC via their PC. Will DeskTopBinder Lite allow them to do this or do they need to purchase a whole lot of DTB Pro's to see and retrieve the faxes to the individual workstations? They are ready to close, so a quick answer would be greatly appreciated.

There are two ways to set this up.

1. Have all faxes sent to one location, or an "Administrators" PC. By administrator, all they need is to set the faxes to go to Desktop Binder Pro, and that person can preview the faxes, i.e.- The first page, typically a cover page; and then distribute them by using the "Deliver" function on Desktop Binder Pro. This way they only need one version of Desktop Binder Pro. The Deliver feature of DTBP can see the Scan Router Pro Server and all of its "Users and Groups". This way, each user gets to decide how they want their faxes delivered, In-tray, e-mail or windows file ... and what format. Lets say it is being delivered to a group of 4 people, each can choose their own file format and delivery format. Talk about a lock-out feature!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. You can also have the "originator" of the fax, input a Sub-Address code from their fax that coordinates with the code the Scan Router Pro Server has for each of its "Users and Groups". This involves possibly teaching the "sender" of the fax how to input sub-addresses on their fax. Most fax machines have this capability.

Advantages and dis-advantages are obviously seen with both. But at least you can let your customer decide which is best for them. With the first one, the "Administrator" can set their Scan Router V2 link to pop-up when they get a new fax, so at least they would be notified of new faxes. My guess is, they will choose the first option, because it works best for having ALL faxes sent electronically.

Good luck! It is a great feature, and no one else can do it this way.

Thanks Dave,
Your first way is close. They want all faxes to go to one location, but then they want each PC on the network to be able to view and retrieve the faxes from that one location. The delivery PC or "Administrators" PC is not monitored. Can they do this with DTB Lite or do they have to have DTB Pro on each workstation.
