IBM AS/400 Operating System Supports
Savin Printers & Multifunction Products

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Attention Arthur Post,

Savin Corporation is pleased to announce the easy access and availability of Savin Printers and MFPs through the Operating System of the IBM AS/400. As of January 2004, IBM has posted Savin device OS/400 support through their web site.
Now the AS/400 user can select the applicable Savin Printers and MFPs in the printer selection listing for AS/400 supported devices. The IBM AS/400 will support the following Savin Printers and MFPs:

Savin MLP32
Savin SLP32
Savin MLP45
Savin CLP1036
Savin CLP28
Savin 4035/4045
These products will be supported on the IBM OS/400 versions V5R1 and V5R2, and will have functionality that is equivalent to other IBM supported products, such as HP and Lexmark. Savin models will support the PCL data stream only. The following device control functions will also be supported:

Input Tray Selection
Output Tray Selection
Simplex
Duplex
Selling benefits are as follows:

Bundled in the Operating System of the AS/400.
Support functions equal to HP and Lexmark.
Support of two MFPs will differentiate Savin from the competition.
(No other major MFP manufacturer has offered the ability to print from the AS/400 to an MFP.)
Implementation and support by IBM highlights Savin as a proven manufacturer, connecting to and printing to and printing from the IBM AS/400.
With the IBM announcement and the Variable Data Software solutions that Savin currently sells for Host Connectivity, we can make 2004 the year that Savin becomes one of the most Host Connected devices in the Mainframe market.
