Congratulations to our Winner

Congratulations to Floyd Pratt of Grants Pass, Oregon, our Expressions
monthly drawing winner! For the past 10 years, Floyd has been the
administrator for the Calvalry Crossroads Church. It's a demanding job
churning out approximately 10,000 printed pieces a month. Everything from
the church newsletter to brochures and more are printed on their RISO
FR3950a.

As our winner, Floyd will receive a Logitech Personal Digital Pen that
will remember everything he writes and download the info to his PC. Stay
tuned, next month's winner could be you!

Tips & Tricks

Paste Up

In our school newsletter, we have a 'Kids Page' with student contributions
which include drawings, articles, poems, and preprinted illustrations and
titles. All of this is 'cut and paste' and the page is crammed to the
limits of the paper size. I have found that inserting this between two
sheets of transparencies and taping the top edge eliminates movement or
folding of the many pieces on this page when we print our newsletter.
(Editor's note: Carrier Sheets are designed for this and are available
from your local RISO sales office.)

A Chink in the Link

Select a cell in Excel without triggering its hyperlink

Beginning with Excel 2000, entering a Web or email address into a cell
automatically creates a hyperlink, which can be used just like any
hyperlink on a Web page. Unfortunately, this can make selecting a cell
that contains a hyperlink a chore--as soon as you click on the cell to
select it, the hyperlink is activated and your Web browser or default
email program is launched. To avoid triggering the hyperlink in Excel
2000, you had to select an adjacent cell and then navigate to the desired
cell using your arrow keys. Fortunately, Microsoft realizes what a pain
this is and provides a way to select a cell without activating its
hyperlink. To do so, simply hold the mouse button down a little longer
than usual when selecting the cell. When the mouse pointer changes from
the hand graphic to the traditional Excel pointer, release the button.
When you really do want to activate a hyperlink, simply click and release
the mouse button as you usually would.

Introducing RISO Document Management Solutions

Imagine if all you had to do was touch a button to distribute a document
easily and automatically, IN ANY FORM, whether hard copy, email, fax, or
website. Imagine if the distribution of this document in all its forms
happened AT THE SAME TIME, without having to perform the many separate
steps needed for each form of distribution. You can make it happen with
RISO Document Management Solutions!

Click on the link below to see a flash demo of this exciting process in a
typical setting, or to request additional information or request an
appointment for your own personal demonstration.

Memorial Day

To many, Memorial Day weekend has marked the beginning of the summer
season, celebrated with barbecues and outdoor fun. But, Memorial Day means
so much more. How and when did it all begin? The times we live in and the
current state of world affairs remind us of the importance of this very
special day. As you enjoy the long weekend, take a moment to remember
those throughout history who made it possible by surrendering their lives
for freedom.

Light Up the Bar-B!

Meat has been cooked over an open fire since the Neanderthals learned to
make fire. It's this primal aspect of cooking with fire that drives modern
man to labor for hours over hot coals on a scorching summer afternoon. To
learn the secrets behind the all-important barbecue, click on the link
