Ricoh to start making Toshiba copiers

Ricoh announced it has invested $3 million to open its new division, ETRIA Co., Ltd. (stands for “eternal, try, innovation and alliance”)

Will make MFPs for both Ricoh and Toshiba
- Toshiba Tec owns 15% of ETRIA
Hoping to achieve “manufacturing efficiencies”
While the new MFPs will have same engines, the cosmetics, controllers and LCD touchscreen user interface will have different look and feel, for Ricoh versus Toshiba
New models will start shipping in early 2026
The ETRIA headquarters is located in Kanagawa, Japan

interesting, at least it's not until early 2026. Still I think it's just a matter of time before Ricoh bites the bullet and purchases Toshiba Tec.
