Ricoh to start making Toshiba copiers
Ricoh announced it has invested $3 million to open its new division, ETRIA Co., Ltd. (stands for “eternal, try, innovation and alliance”)
- Will make MFPs for both Ricoh and Toshiba
- Toshiba Tec owns 15% of ETRIA
- Hoping to achieve “manufacturing efficiencies”
- While the new MFPs will have same engines, the cosmetics, controllers and LCD touchscreen user interface will have different look and feel, for Ricoh versus Toshiba
- New models will start shipping in early 2026
- The ETRIA headquarters is located in Kanagawa, Japan
