I noticed something that is a little troubling. While looking at the presentations, i noticed that Ricoh's MMV for the 2238 is 10K. Is this correct? I mean, we are supposed to replace the 27cpm to 35cpm B/W units with these, and the MMV is only 10K. I have 22cpms that do more than that. What kind of service guarantees will Ricoh give if the customer is doing...let's say 20K on B/W per month? I see a huge problem with this MMV. Can anyone shed some light?
At Vision we were handed a competitive analysis booklets vs Canon, Minolta and Xerox.03Cbr>
These were done by IA and gave the Ricoh's a great overall review of quality, speed and ease of use.

However there is one troubling statement.

MAX MONTHLY VOLUME IS 10K

What gives??? I have these engines out in the field producing anywhere from 10K to 20K per month!

What happens when you need tech support for a service issue and they find out the customer has exceeded the maximum monthly volume?

This unit can easily resell for 20K with options. The monthly cost for a 36 month lease is $558 per month. Divide that by the maximum volume and your cost of ownership is a whopping .0558!!

Now go look at the CL7100 the sister unit of the 2238/2232. The maximum monthly volume is 50,000 pages!!!!

It's the same darn engine!!!
Which one are we to believe?

Please refer to the Sales Information Guide Page 46 for your answers on volume. For those who don't want to take the time to look this information up for themselves can read below!

AVERAGE Volume: 10K B/W 7K
Color 3K

MAXIMUM Volume: 50K B/W 25K
Color 25K

Let's not spend time on this issue, the product has been around for quite some time ... dating back to the AP3800C. If you really want references on volume, use your own MIF of AP3800C and CL7000.
