RICOH PRODUCTS RECEIVE CERNER CERTIFICATION

West Caldwell, NJ, January 29, 2007 – Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, announced today that the Ricoh® Aficio® MP C2500, MP C3000 and MP C3500 multifunction products (MFPs) have achieved certification from the Cerner Corp., the leading U.S. supplier of healthcare information technology solutions. With this validation, Ricoh products are authorized for use in Cerner’s Millennium application environment – a platform that allows health professionals to run tests, make diagnoses, place orders, fill medications, document care or remit bills using a single information system.

The Cerner certification consists of a lengthy evaluation process that tests the compatibility of peripheral devices with the Cerner Millennium platform. Cerner first screens for potential issues, and when the devices are approved, they undergo more rigorous physical analysis. These Cerner Functional Evaluation Services for Ricoh were performed in the Cerner Technology Certification Laboratory where the company evaluated the devices’ functionality in a replicated Cerner Millennium application environment. Successfully passing the testing process, the Aficio MP C2500, MP C3000 and MP C3500 are now part of the approved “Cerner Peripheral List” and its internal “Peripheral Reference Guide,” a catalogue used by Cerner to assist its clients in selecting Cerner certified printing devices.

“The Ricoh Aficio MP C2500, MP C3000 and MP C3500 printing solutions proved to be well-matched with the Cerner operating system, demonstrating superb functionality, durability and sustainability,” said Eric Kays, program manager, Cerner Certification Program, Cerner Corp.

By achieving Cerner validation, Ricoh products are now pre-approved for use in hospitals and other medical offices that are based on the Cerner Millennium operation system environment. Since Cerner will also assist in providing any necessary IT Support for these devices, Ricoh will help to train its technical support personnel. Furthermore, Ricoh will provide on-going engineering support to maintain the compatibility of the MFPs with the Millennium operating system and Cerner application code, for the duration of the devices’ lifecycle.

“Receiving validation of our multifunction products from Cerner confirms the flexibility of Ricoh solutions to drive efficiency in multiple work environments,” said Hede Nonaka, senior vice president, Document Solutions & Services Division (DSSD), Ricoh Corporation. “Ricoh is grateful that we can now work with Cerner to deliver these first-class document management solutions to its clients.”
