Ricoh is proud to announce the availability of its Print and Copy Control v3 (PCC) solution for Aficio MFP’s. PCC is a powerful software application that runs on the MFP hard drive allowing authenticated user access and tracking of copy/print jobs via the MFP’s LCD. Users need to enter a valid PIN number, network login or ID card to gain access to MFP copy functions. Once a copy/print job is completed, all transaction data integrates back into the Equitrac Office or Equitrac Express Accounting Server for reporting purposes.
Client Billing and Document Security
Today, it is extremely important for certain verticals to track copy/print usage to charge back output expenses. PCC’s client billing option provides reporting information for both the identification of the user and the account code to charge back. For example, general office and academic environments can bill back any output job to clients, projects, budgets, departments, etc.
PCC also supports secure printing with added security for confidential documents via the MFP’s LCD. Users simply enter a PIN number, network login or ID card to view print jobs being held on the network print server. Each print job is identified by document name, number of pages and total cost of printing. Advanced “Follow You” functionality enables users to release held documents from any network MFP. Administrators can even configure the software to automatically delete jobs after a predetermined number of hours/days they are waiting in queue.
PCC v3 offers a host of benefits for customers:
· Saves time and money by eliminating the need to install, configure and service external copy control terminals
· Supports various end-user authentication standards including company ID badges, PIN numbers or network login (Windows, Novell, and LDAP)
· Allows secure release of confidential documents via the MFP’s LCD
· Management of all user and account codes from one central location
· Provides detailed reporting information by date, time, user, number of pages, cost, etc.
