Ricoh Well-Positioned for High-Tech's Rebound
West Caldwell, NJ, June 26, 2003 - Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, announced today that its parent company, Ricoh Company Ltd., is among the 100 best-performing technology companies in BusinessWeek's sixth annual "Info Tech 100" list featured in the June 23rd issue. Ricoh is listed among such corporations as Nokia, Dell Computer, IBM and Hewlett-Packard.
"Info Tech 100" is designed to provide insight into the leaders of the fast-moving tech industry. Companies are selected from Standard & Poor's financial data bank of more than 10,000 publicly traded companies. In addition to U.S. companies, foreign correspondents select which non-U.S. companies to add as candidates. Those companies whose stock price has dropped 75% are eliminated from consideration. The remaining companies are measured by four criteria: revenue growth, shareholder return, and return on equity (all given equal weight) and total revenues (weighed 1.5 times more than the other three criteria).
"We are honored to be featured in BusinessWeek's "Info Tech 100" list since it affirms that Ricoh is one of the top companies in the IT sector," said Kirk Yoshida, chairman and CEO, Ricoh Corporation.
