RICOH INTRODUCES DOCUCLASS EXPRESS DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT SOLUTION
RiSVP Member Software Assists Price Conscious Small Businesses to Improve Organizational Processes
West Caldwell, NJ, July 20, 2009 — Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment, today announced the release of Cima Software’s DocuClass Express document management software, a solution that addresses the needs of the small business marketplace. Designed for companies that are new to document management, this entry-level solution is an ideal choice for organizations looking to achieve business process optimization goals. Enhanced for Ricoh, the DocuClass Express MFP Link ties the software directly to most Ricoh multifunction products (MFPs) and offers a simplified method of document capture, indexing, archiving, and distribution. The software solution is available to the Ricoh Channel through the Ricoh Independent Solutions Vendor Program (RiSVP).
DocuClass Express is a an affordable, feature-rich capture, storage and retrieval solution that enables organizations to protect information assets, ensure business continuity, improve productivity, adhere to regulatory compliance, and reduce costs associated with maintaining paper documents. Additionally, the solution can be seamlessly upgraded to an enterprise-scale DocuClass content management solution. This scalability offers the flexibility needed to support company growth while preserving software investments. “DocuClass Express is a great first step for customers that want to become paperless, gain document security and have instant access to information,” said Nelson Cano, vice president of Sales and Marketing, Cima Software Corporation. “We believe it will serve to reduce solutions sales cycles, open untapped opportunities, create expansion opportunities and increase customer loyalty.”
The initial licensing package for DocuClass Express includes three user licenses and one MFP Link license for interface to Ricoh MFPs. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) licenses and Auditing can be added separately. The suggested selling price of DocuClass Express is $2,300.
“We are delighted to partner with Cima Software to deliver robust document management solutions that address the unique business needs of the small business market,” said Ron Potesky, senior vice president, Corporate Communications, Product/Solutions and Channel Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “Now more than ever, it is critical that we deliver feature rich, cost-effective solutions that enable our customers to improve business processes and stay competitive in today’s marketplace.”
One of three Ricoh Alliance programs, RiSVP, developed in cooperation with Ricoh solution partners and Ricoh’s direct and dealer channels, focuses on two key areas: expansion of channel marketing opportunities for RiSVP members and simplifying solution access for Ricoh sales channels. By providing RiSVP member products directly from Ricoh, the direct and dealer channels have more opportunities for new revenue growth and simplified sales operations. In turn, RiSVP members enjoy faster and greater financial return on the investments they have made in developing solutions that when combined with Ricoh’s award-winning product portfolio address customers’ key concerns.
Ricoh recognized the MFP would become the focal point of all business equipment and blazed a path to provide an open architecture platform to expand the products usefulness. Through our patented “Embedded Software Architecture” (ESA), developers have utilized the most extensive tool offering in the industry to create unique solutions, which have far exceeded customer expectations. Developers enjoy a wide range of individualized support options that have allowed them to reduce development costs by speeding up the development process. Customers have benefited from ESA through productivity increases and the use of existing technology to solve the ever-changing myriad of business challenges. Ricoh’s MFP’s running ESA have evolved from merely printing, scanning and faxing to providing end users with the profound realization they have truly purchased a full service business center.
