WEST CALDWELL, NJ, Sep 8, 2003 — Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, and Electronics For Imaging (EFII) , the world leader in imaging solutions for network printing, announced today the availability of the Ricoh EB-105EX controller featuring EFI's advanced Fiery(R) technology to power Ricoh's Aficio 2090 (90 page-per-minute) and Aficio 2105 (105 page-per-minute) black & white digital networked office systems for corporate workgroups, print for pay and professional printing environments.
Developed by Ricoh and EFI, this powerful controller handles the most complex graphics and variable data for high-volume, black & white output. From document creation to job management and final printing, the Fiery Driven(R) EB-105EX controller combined with the Aficio systems offers maximum efficiency, consistent high-quality imaging, and superior printing performance.

Printer Controller Handles Both Adobe P.S. 3 and PCL6 Files
High-performance features of the EB-105EX black & white controller include Command WorkStation(TM), the industry's most popular printing workflow application for conveniently managing digital print jobs; and EFI's Fiery FreeForm(TM) software to create efficient and flexible master templates for variable data printing. The Ricoh EB-105EX controller also boasts PCL6 and true Adobe PostScript 3 to give users the power to create and print visually rich documents from virtually any application. Additionally, new Fiery functions such as scan-to-ftp and scan-to-email can be directly accessed from the system's user interface. Fiery DocBuilder Pro(TM) imposition software for editing and assembling entire documents before RIPing the files is also available as an option.
