Ricoh Demonstrates Sustainability Services at EcoPrint

London, September 26 – 27 2012 – Ricoh Europe's portfolio of Eco solutions and services for improving the sustainability and printing of document workflows will be showcased at EcoPrint Live 2012. Among the technologies and services highlighted at the Berlin event are the Carbon Balanced Printing Programme, the GreenLine remanufactured printer initiative, the Ricoh Pro™ L4000 large format printer and the Print & Share Eco printer driver. Seminar attendees will also hear about the real-life success story of UK commercial print provider, Crossprint – Ricoh’s first UK carbon balanced printer. “Ricoh has a rich heritage and experience when it comes to the many ways we can help businesses achieve their environmental reduction goals - and meet the demands of their clients,” says Graham Moore, Business Development Director, Ricoh Europe.

Ricoh's EcoPrint presence will also be carbon neutral, with reductions made where possible, and any carbon generated by travel from visitors that are registered with Ricoh will be offset.

Visitors to Ricoh’s stand will learn about its approach to: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Ricoh is helping its clients to Reduce by taking advantage of its Carbon Balanced Printing services to minimise carbon emissions, Reuse by embracing the GreenLine remanufactured printer initiative and Recycle through the refurbishment of parts and the recovery of consumables.

Ricoh Business Driver Programme™
Visitors can also sample tools such as the print job carbon calculator which is part of the Ricoh Business Driver Programme™ that has proven to be an invaluable, sustainable information resource for Ricoh customers, as well as offering 24/7 access to new market reports, business guides, e-learning courses, consulting services and Ricoh Professional Services.

GreenLine and Sustainable Printing Systems
Ricoh GreenLine remanufactured products have a substantially smaller carbon footprint than new products made from raw materials. The programme has been successfully launched in the office environment to revitalise multifunctional products and is now being offered for some production printing systems. Ricoh is also expanding its ‘Resource Smart Return Programme’ for production printing customers, beginning with the recovery and re-filling of toner cartridges. It will be extended to other printer components later this year.

Ricoh Technology
Ricoh will showcase some of its growing eco-based technology including the Ricoh Pro L4000. It features next generation piezo-electric print heads and durable aqueous latex ink that ensures minimal environmental impact.

The Ricoh Pro L4000 will be available for commercial release in North America and Europe in the first quarter of 2013. Also on show will be Ricoh’s Aficio™SG 3110DN GelSprinter fast-drying Liquid Gel™ printer that uses the latest technology for sharp image quality.

Ricoh Print & Share
Ricoh’s Print & Share Eco printer driver helps reduce paper use, avoid waste and reduce CO2 emissions with one click. It also helps to eliminate unwanted prints, such as pages that contain only a URL, optimise line spacing, and to remove unnecessary content such as email signatures or disclaimers, all with the purpose of condensing print to fewer sheets. The Print & Share Eco printer driver is compatible with all Ricoh MFPs and printers.

Moore concludes, “EcoPrint is perfectly timed to support the industry’s growing interest in ensuring sustainability is a strategic operational element for all businesses. We look forward to discussing with visitors the many ways we can help them imagine, and implement changes, no matter how big or small.”
