BOULDER, CO, Apr 24, 2013 (Marketwired via COMTEX) -- Ricoh Production Print Solutions LLC (Ricoh), a leading provider of digital output solutions, today announced a broad range of new features and enhancements to its workflow software and solutions portfolio. These latest updates can now better address the multiple pain points that customers -- ranging from large transactional mailers to smaller commercial printers -- are facing everyday: errors with manual processes, increasing postal costs, lack of integrity for critical communications documents and much more. These new workflow offerings are available today to Ricoh customers.

"At Ricoh, we realize that print service providers today are seeking easy-to-use, cost-effective solutions that can help expand their business while maintaining operational flexibility and integrity. The wealth of regulations governing sensitive documents considered critical is always changing. It is ever more vital that organizations strive to implement a proven workflow backbone," said Theresa Lang, vice president, solutions and services, Ricoh. "Our new portfolio empowers print service providers to look their customers in the eye and say that they are indeed equipped with proven, effective and scalable workflow solutions."

Today's workflow portfolio enhancements include:

-- RICOH ProcessDirectorand RICOH ProcessDirector Express - this
award-winning software portfolio has been enhanced to feature a
completely redesigned visual interface for workflow building as well
as new printer connections. The enhancements support RICOH
ProcessDirector and RICOH ProcessDirector Express' ability to
streamline print operations, improve process integrity, increase
operator productivity and lower costs.

RICOH ProcessDirector's sweet spot is critical communications
production print operations that require precision but are hindered by
manual processes, little or no job tracking, no document-level
integrity and postal inefficiencies. With the new, simplified user
interface, customers are able to create job types and
simple-to-complex workflows using drag-and-drop icons, thus
alleviating previous pain points due to the superior ease-of-use.
Smaller enterprise customers leveraging RICOH ProcessDirector Express
will also be able to reap such benefits on a scale that is more
appropriate for their monthly volumes.

Support is now available for a wider array of cutsheet finishing
such as perfect, ring or ring punch; folding such as Z fold, C fold,
Gate, Saddle or Parallel; stapling and punching capabilities offering
printers the ability to tap into RICOH ProcessDirector and RICOH
ProcessDirector Express across more types of printers. These
enhancements also enable customers to:
-- Specify if media should be used for the whole job or for selected
pages of the job by media name
-- Request many of the finishing capabilities be installed and
available on that printing device
-- Set up media, finishing, and binding as RICOH ProcessDirector job
properties and set in the JDF job ticket for the job
