RICOH CORPORATION UTILIZES DATAVAULT TRAINING AND CONSULTING SERVICES TO ADDRESS CUSTOMERS’ DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT NEEDS

West Caldwell, NJ, March 23, 2005 — Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, announced today that DataVault Inc., an Application Service Provider (ASP) with document imaging and management expertise, has joined Ricoh’s strategic Alliance Program. Together, Ricoh and DataVault offer CompTIA CDIA+ and EDMS Needs Assessment training programs, as well as consultation services for Ricoh dealers.
As technology continues to evolve and become more advanced, document management dealers can no longer sell simple solutions through printers, facsimiles, scanners, or multifunction printers. Customers now require individual consultations as products have become increasingly more sophisticated and include various software, network and security capabilities. DataVault’s training programs address this continual technological evolution by providing Ricoh dealers with the means necessary to determine customers’ technology requirements and provide them with advanced solutions.

As a CompTIA Learning Alliance “CLA” training partner, DataVault’s CompTIA CDIA+ training program is designed to prepare each individual that enrolls to pass the CDIA+ certification exam. The course provides each individual with a thorough comprehension of electronic document management technologies. In addition, DataVault’s EDMS Needs Assessment training program teaches Ricoh dealers how to complete a document needs assessment: determining business objectives, designing a solution, and reporting to the customer. The program is a series of tools, guidance documents, and templates that takes dealers through the entire Needs Assessment process.

“DataVault’s training programs are unique in that they provide Ricoh dealers with the knowledge and capability to address the various document management needs that arise for customers in the industry,” said Byron Aulick, co-founder and President of DataVault, Inc. “In addition, our consulting services offer Ricoh dealers the opportunity to utilize trained field experts to determine and address customer needs and deliver effective, tangible results.”

DataVault’s consulting services include conducting EDM Needs Assessments, EDMS design, RFP preparation, scanning bureau set up, EDM sales and marketing guidance, and vendor selection through Ricoh’s exclusive dealer channel. With this service, Ricoh dealers are able to use a CDIA+ certified imaging expert who will analyze the information collected to create a usable customer solution and who will also train customers on system use.

Ricoh’s Alliance Program encourages leading software companies, content management systems integrators and consulting companies to work together with Ricoh to provide innovative and effective software, digital imaging and content/document management solutions for the business community. The Alliance Program was created for companies whose products and technologies can integrate with and support the competitive stance of Ricoh products and solutions in the marketplace.
