New Digital Imaging System Ideal for Demanding Production Environments
West Caldwell, NJ, June 28, 2004 — Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, today introduced the Aficio® Color 3131, a powerful color imaging system built to meet the requirements of graphic designers, ad agencies, print-for-pay facilities, central reprographics departments and any business that demands professional looking and consistently accurate color copies and prints.
Copying remains a crucial element in today’s production environment. The Aficio Color 3131 provides users with the most advanced copying capabilities available, including access to all finishing options right from the operator panel.

Users can generate output with smooth tonal gradations and solid coverage that results in high quality color output suitable for applications such as marketing materials, sales collateral, and design proofs. And, with a print speed of 31 pages per minute in both color and black and white, the Aficio Color 3131 has the capability to keep up with the most demanding of production environments.
Whether the print job calls for one or 100 prints, the Aficio Color 3131 constantly optimizes the toner density to match the system’s temperature and humidity conditions so users get consistently accurate color on every sheet.
The Aficio Color 3131 supports a wide array of paper sizes and weights and is able to output design mock-ups and placards on 158 lb index. In terms of output size, the Aficio Color 3131 can produce tags and labels as small as 3.9'' x 5.8'', or full-bleed two-page spreads with crop and registration marks on 12'' x 18'' sheets.
The Aficio Color 3131 comes standard with 1,330 sheets of paper capacity that can be increased to a maximum of 4,030 sheets. Customers can also include a 30-sheet duplex tray as well as one of two document finishing options, including booklet finisher than can produce booklets of up to 60 pages. In-line document finishing ensures that color documents are not only produced quickly, but also ready for distribution from the output tray.
Additionally, when configured with the optional EFI™ Fiery controller, customers increase the system functionality with complete network printing and scanning capability. EFI Fiery technology provides unique color and system management tools, as well as the ability to seamlessly integrate the Aficio Color 3131 into various computer environments.
The suggested retail price of the Aficio Color 3131 is $24,995.
