The announcement hit today...

Due to the recent loss of Comdoc Office Systems and in an effort to streamline business processes, the Ricoh Indirect Division will return to three Regions, effective April 1, 2009. This change will allow the Dealer Division to align with the current IKON Regions, in terms of geographical structure and marketplace prescence. As a result, we will eliminate one Regional Vice President position and the new Regions will be as follows; West, Midwest, Eastern Atlantic (combines the former East and South Regions). The new organization will be more efficient and allow Dealer Regions to better interact with IKON Marketplace Vice Presidents, in anticipation of heightened Incumbency issues in the market.
Additionally, the new Major Account policy will dictate that all Major Account ship-ins from Independent Dealers must be directed to the respective IKON Office Solutions entity in any given market. This change in our business model is effective April 1, 2009 and coincides with the new DMAP Price List being distributed to all Independent RFG Dealers and IKON locations today. There will be two published DMAP Pricing levels for Independent Dealers and two unpublished DMAP Pricing levels for IKON Office Solutions and Ricoh Business Systems, which allow a minimal price advantage.
These changes have been made quickly in order to react to current competitive market conditions and will ensure Ricoh's continued dominance in the office equipment industry.
