I dot not have any of these in the field yet, working on two deals. One customer asked if the system could duplex 300gsm, I tild himt the system was not spec'd for that, which he understood, however he was curious of someone had the C751 running 300gsm duplex. He feels that he would use it on a limited basis and would not put up a fight is sometime n the future it dod not perform with 300gsm.

Anyone out there got a C751 duplexing 300GSM?

thanx

You need to address the applications the customer wants. I can see this guy wants to do two-sided business cards and you will NOT get a second side registration and then cut them in bulk. When people want 300gsm you gotta dig into the applications they want to do (heavy fills, tight registrations etc.). I've retired from day to day sales but still lurk on the fringes - got that toner in my blood - and I don't know the 751.

The C751 is only spec'd to auto-duplex 256gsm. In my experience, the 300gsm will NOT auto-duplex.

Interestingly, I've run heavier weights (up to 350gsm) will few issues, but forget about trying to auto-duplex anything heavier than 256, at all, doesn't work, even a little.

The C751 actually WILL do second-side registration, because unlike non-production machines (even those Ricoh has called production in the past), it has a separate registration unit to make sure the paper registers. This unit functions with auto-duplex as well as manual duplex.
