RICOH CORPORATION PROVIDES ALL-IN-ONE DESKTOP SOLUTION WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF THE AC204
AC204 Receives Better Buys for Business Editor’s Choice Award for Low-Volume MFP
West Caldwell, NJ, September 08, 2004 — Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of digital office equipment, today introduced the Ricoh® AC204, a compact, all-in-one system that provides advanced digital technology and puts the user in total control of the document management process. The productivity and performance of the AC204 make it ideal for small offices or workgroups. The AC204 provides users with simplex and duplex copying (1:2) and printing capabilities, a legal-size platen, full-color TWAIN scanning, fast three-second fax communication, and sharp 600 dpi print resolution. A generous 550-sheet paper tray and 100-sheet bypass tray allow users to load different paper sizes, ensuring continuous workflow productivity. Additionally, the AC204’s design is Energy-Star compliant, incorporating capabilities that align with Ricoh’s goal of providing healthier and safer work environments.
“Multitasking has become standard in most business environments, and Ricoh constantly works to develop products that will allow the end user to perform all critical business functions at the same time -- all from one system,” said Hede Nonaka, vice president of marketing for Ricoh Corporation.
The AC204 has received the Editor’s Choice Award from Better Buys For Business as a premier low-volume multifunction product. The award will appear in the 2004 Low-Volume Copier and Multifunction Guide to be published this month.
The advanced features of the AC204 include: · Versatile Copying: The AC204 has a user-friendly control panel with a two-line display that helps the end user through every function. Copying at 16 pages per minute, the AC204 allows the user to easily make copies of a single original from the legal-size platen or copy multiple originals using the standard 30-Sheet Automatic Document Feeder. Paper usage is reduced with Duplex Copying and the Image Repeat Copy feature, which prints multiple images of one original onto a single page.
· Sophisticated Printing: At 16 prints per minute and 600 dpi PCL6 printing, the AC204 produces crystal clear images quickly and efficiently. The AC204 can be connected to a PC via a USB1.1 (USB cable included) or IEEE1284 Parallel Port, and it supports today’s most popular operating systems. The Duplex Printing feature helps users save paper and file space by producing two-sided output. Advanced print features such as Watermarks and Multiple Page Printing enable end users to produce high-quality documents.
· Convenient Color Scanning: Productivity is taken even further with efficient full-color 600 dpi TWAIN scanning. Color or black and white originals up to 8.5” x 14” can be scanned and the image can be saved as a file onto a PC, incorporated into a software application, or sent via e-mail.
· Full-Function Faxing: The AC204 incorporates advanced fax capabilities featuring a Super G3 33.6 Kbps Modem. Once documents are scanned from the platen or Automatic Document Feeder, they are transmitted quickly in three seconds per page. The Remote Control Panel Software allows users to set up fax system data options, create and edit Phonebook entries, or view the information from their PC. The convenient Group Dial feature allows faxes to be instantly transmitted to many recipients at once.
The AC204 is available now for a suggested retail price of $1,299.
