Net income was ¥31.1 billion, or $270 million, in the three months that ended March 31, up from ¥25 billion a year earlier. Sales gained 4.4 percent to ¥516.3 billion.
Ricoh is aiming for record net income of ¥106 billion in the year that started April 1, compared with ¥97.1 billion a year earlier. Sales are expected to rise for the 13th straight year and gain 7 percent to ¥2.05 trillion.
